Adoption Process

Important information before you apply to us
Thank you for your interest in one of our dogs. You can read below how to get in contact with us and what you need to do to start the adoption process.

But first, a few thoughts on getting a dog…
It is important that the whole family is in agreement with the idea of adopting a rescue. Because they are special animals that show inexhaustible gratitude and will give you all their love.

But some dogs have also had bad experiences, e.g. they are afraid of men, and they may have very great fears of loss. They often don't know much and have hardly ever walked on a leash. Have never lived in a house and may react to some noises, even if it's just the vacuum cleaner. Haven't travelled in cars (except for short distances on Kalymnos). Most have never been to a hotel or restaurant. Housebreaking cannot be guaranteed either.

In other words...our animals need all of your patience and attention, meaning a lot of time especially in the beginning. Puppies rarely have bad experiences and are easily malleable, although they are "toddlers" and behave accordingly. They also need a lot of time to learn basic dog behavior.

More considerations...
It should be certain that no family member has a dog hair allergy.
A dog requires daily walks, even in inclement weather.
Dogs break things. And just as we humans lose a few hairs every day, a dog leaves its fur in the house.

Our ideas of a new home?

A garden is always nice, but not a must. If you live in an apartment building, all other parties should agree to the purchase. Please ask in advance.
If you live for rent, we would like to get the written consent of the landlord in any case. You should also clarify this in advance.

Are you over 70? No problem for us as long as you can convince us that you are fit enough and you can name a person who is committed to taking the animal in case of an emergency.

What do we strictly reject?
The fact that the dog is not kept as a full member of the family, living in a hut outside in the garden is a no-go. Likewise, we do not accept being leashed or chained, either outside or inside the house.

Now it can start!
